Hi, I was having a problem with email synchronising earlier this week and I ran SCANPST which 'fixed' problems with my outlook folders. In the process it also deleted some very important folders going back over a couple of years plus some recent important emails. Luckily I have a backup file.

The file is approx 450 MEG. Pretty large but that probably means that all my lost mail folders are in there. I would appreciate any suggestions you have as there is some very important email stored in the folders and I've tried everything that I can find suggested in online communities.
Thanks Vardhamam, So essentially the Microsoft utility corrupted the backup as it was creating it? And now I am stuck, with no record of my emails. How Can I Microsoft Word there.
It seems a bit harsh! I am going to plough on in the hope that I will find a way to recover the missing emails and I'll update you if I do, in the mean time thanks for your help.
BTW, what lost and found folder? Since I cannot open anything a lost and found folder was never created, I wonder if this s good or bad news for my quest to recover the files?!
